The multimodal MARE Data Lake is an innovative data platform designed to collect, manage, and analyse healthcare data on a large scale. With a strong emphasis on data security and privacy, our infrastructure complies with national and European regulations, ensuring the highest level of protection for sensitive information. Its multi-cloud and federated architecture offers exceptional flexibility and scalability, supporting complex workloads while ensuring global data access.
Patient privacy is paramount at MARE. Our Data Lake employs advanced de-identification technologies to effectively remove all personal health information (PHI), even from unstructured data. Additionally, a GDPR-compliant consent management system strengthens our commitment to privacy, utilizing multi-layered de-identification processes that actively prevent re-identification attempts.
We are strongly committed to responsible handling of health data, guided by ethical principles and operational integrity. The MARE Data Lake is equipped with state-of-the-art annotation and cataloguing tools that streamline data preparation and standardization such as FHIR and OMOP, significantly reducing development time for the research teams.
