The Masterclass is at the heart of the MARE Talent Program: two intensive days in Venice, working on real cases alongside our best developers and team leaders, as well as researchers from leading institutions in Italy and abroad.
It’s not just a chance to show what you can do: it’s a concrete way to find out whether MARE is really the right project for you.

Who we’re looking for
Candidate profile
Master’s students about to graduate, recent graduates, or PhD candidates in:
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Mathematics
- Data Science
- Computational Science
Required skills
- PPython applied to real data — Pandas, SQL, Jupyter, not just theory.
- Machine Learning — scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, even in an academic setting.
- English at B2 level or above — the Masterclass is delivered in English.
- Genuine curiosity about AI applied to healthcare and a problem-solving mindset.
We’re looking for people who want to become part of a community and an extraordinary transformation project: living tomorrow on a campus in Venice and contributing today to the growth of a community of excellence and innovation.
No prior work experience is required: we’re looking for potential and the drive to be there, not a résumé.
The technology you’ll work with
MARE Data Lake
Real clinical data drawn directly from CGM systems, standardized to FHIR and OMOP, GDPR-compliant by design. Longitudinal medical records, prescriptions, and health events — the kind of data infrastructure most researchers can only dream of having access to.
MARE AI Engine
An live development environment for building artificial predictive models on real healthcare cases: LLMs and RAG, NLP applied to clinical texts, and predictive models — built natively on TensorFlow and PyTorch and designed from day one to be AI Act compliant.

Format

Venice · 21–22 November 2026
Day 1
Arrival and a welcome to Venice, followed by an afternoon built around ideas: an introduction to MARE, a session on big data for healthcare and biotechnology, and a talk on hybrid intelligence, with contributions from leading researchers.
Day 2
In the morning, a visit to the real MARE construction site — the former Ospedale al Mare — followed by an afternoon session on AI for healthcare and a real-world data application case. Then it’s your turn: working in teams, you’ll start from a real scenario to design an AI-for-healthcare use case and pitch your concept to the room.
Throughout the two days, there will also be dedicated time for interviews and in-depth discussions about the job opportunities MARE offers in Venice.
Output
5–6 immediate job offers. All participants will join a Talent Pool for future opportunities at MARE.
